Daddy

Daddy,
You are the Father of my heart, worthy of my praise;
yet I turn from You to glorify myself.
In Your love You call out to me.
I hear nothing.
I push You away and worship myself.
I clothe myself with lies and I dance in the seduction of death.
My soul is groaning in anguish; crying, pleading for life.
Although I turn from You I cannot escape Your truth,
I cannot escape Your Love.
In Your mercy and by Your grace You still pursue me.
My heart cannot resist You.
My desires lead to You.
Do not let me be led astray,
I beg of You; guide me, pull me, and prod me back to You,
that I may find Life, find You, and return home.
